THE BREAZIER (BEZER); PILE; BLACK; CLAYTON CONNECTION FROM SPARTANBURG TO PENNYROYAL WILLIAM BRADSHAW and wife SARAH [WILLIAM born 1740-49] must be considered as the WILLIAM and SARAH BRATCHER alias BRACHER of Spartenburg SC This may be the same person as the WILLIAM BRADSHAW who is alias BRACHER in Surry Co., NC. Note: Mary Ann Bradshaw (WIDOW OF JOHN BRADSHAW?) Bracher, is on THE SURRY COUNTY NC record. WILLIAM BRASHEAR and SARAH were married before 1773, as indicated by birth of NANCY, wife of ANTHONY PHELPS. The triple use of the name may be seen on the land deed [ID89-90-91] which accompanies this report. The deed also was witnessed by SAMUEL AND JAMES WARD in Spartenburg, SC. The [ID91] gives evidence of SAMUEL WARD included in a power of attorney in Chatham Co., NC. This is strong evidence to tie WILLIAM and SARAH BRATCHER and SAMUEL and JAMES WARD to Chatham Co., NC. A WILLIAM BRAZIER'S orphans were given a land grant from the State of North Carolina [NO 522] by John AMBROSE entry officer of Claims for Land in the County of Chatham NC. William BRADCHEW ...one male 16 and up; three free white males under 16 years; Four free white females Is this William Bradshaw of Laurens County who had son William going by BRATCHER, Bracher, Beshears Probably the same person as William BISHER in another location??? Or ...is it the William BRADSHAW who left the will in Abbieville. This next was taken from "Abbeville Dist. Wills and Bonds"pg 45: I found this WILL years ago while in SC. I thought it might be Henry Alexander Breshears forefather who lived to be over 100+. Notice there is a widow ELIZABETH. 1842...BRADSHAW, William --Box 13, Pack 20: Will dated Dec 12, 1842 in Abbeville Dist. Proved Feb. 6.1843. Maryann BRADSHAW ...John BRADSHAW'S Widow." {Note... Seems this William BRADSHAW was very old in 1842. Appears to be the right age to be brother to our Henry (1) BRESHEARS b. about 1760-5 in North Carolina? If so is this HENRY BRADSHAW, William's son, the HENRY BRATCHER who went to Jackson Co., GA (LATER ALABAMA) in 1803? I don't think the arithmetic is right to be our Henry BRESHEAR, perhaps alias BRADSHAW, of Lawrence Co. TN who died 1829, unless his father out lived him? 1814...Maury Co., TN Wills: PG 3: Will... of BRADSHAW, WILLIAM: SALLY my dearly beloved wife; LAND IN BOURBON CO KY. under management of Robert TRIMBLE my attorney; three beloved children: 1)Wm BRADSHAW Jr., 2)James BRADSHAW, 3)Jane BRADSHAW, 4)Nephew William BRADSHAW Jr. and wife; executors. 4 Mar 1814. Wit: Lewis Cockell, Hugh B. Porter, and Hugh HAMBUE [Hamby?]. This is the connection to the Grays of Lee Co., Virginia. Looking at Bourbon County KY shows a WILLIAM BASHAW TENNESSEE PIONEERS 1) Who was the Bennet Beshers listed on the Forbes Tax List when they first went to Tennessee? 2) Who is the older "Hen Beshers " listed also on this list? 3) Why did the Henry Alexander Breshears family have the "Tradition" of our forefather who loved to dance and play the fiddle "got Religion" and never played again ...as he thought the devil was in the music? Same tradition as descendants of William Gowan Breshears had. See TBBS 4) Why have we lost sight of the fact that this William BRAISURE born about 1740, forefather of William Gowan Breshears clan, came from Fauquier Co., VA. 5)I don't think Middleton BRESHEARS was ever in Fauquier Co., Virginia. 6)James Bashaw (Bradshaw) and wife Francis Taylor and descendants are traced through Fauquier. 7)William Bradshaw of Maury Co., Tennessee said he came from Bourbon Co., Kentucky. If we look at Bourbon Co. KY, we find William BASHAW.
